Many main roads in Poughkeepsie, NY were formerly brick, and often the brick is still in place with asphalt on top. This brick roadway was exposed over the 2014-2015 winter. The road is South Road in Poughkeepsie, NY, just north of Eastman Terrace.

Ausable Chasm is located in the Adirondacks of New York State. US Route 9 is the main road that crosses the chasm, but formerly the road used was located slightly east of US 9. The bridge over this road, Old State Road, is still present, but closed to traffic.
From the south side of the old bridge, one can see stone ruins along the chasm. I am unsure of the history of these ruins. If you know anything, please contact me!

As of 2014, this property is undergoing review to be redeveloped. It previously operated as a horse farm with a residence. The house was constructed circa 1818-1820. The barn was constructed circa 1920 along with an outbuilding that is currently used as a one-car garage and storage building. The property was farmed until the 1940s, including corn.
The road leading to the subject property – Joe’s Mother’s Road – initially traversed the entire property and was part of Route 82. According to topographic maps, Route 82 was re-routed around the property sometime between 1903 and 1943

The Montauk Lighthouse, located on Long Island in Montauk, NY, was constructed in 1796 and is New York’s oldest lighthouse.

The Dutchess Plaza had its peak; it is still in existence, but it is not what it used to be. The neon sign that advertises the plaza along Route 44 is no longer lit. It is a bit of a depressing plaza.

A fire occurred in March 2012 to a house on Church Street near South Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie, NY. The heat from the fire affected the vinyl siding of the houses nearby. Obviously, the house was completely demolished following the fire. The adjacent houses were repaired.
A barge is laying derelict along the shore of the Hudson River at the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club.

The Rosendale Trestle has been restored to be part of the railtrail (railroad converted to a walking and riding trail). These photos were taking in March 2013, while the restoration was occurring.

The building was closed when I photographed it in March 2013, and it was demolished relatively soon afterwards. The signage indicated it was a florist, but the interior also contained framing materials. It was located on South Road/Route 9 in Poughkeepsie at 41.648949, -73.926729.
