This is an abandoned barn at the intersection of Schultz Hill Road and Route 199 in Pine Plains, NY. It may have been a blacksmith shop at some point, based on some historical research. Not photographed is the fact that there is some machinery under ground in the basement that appears to have been powered by the stream through a raceway.

Carhenge is a replication of Stonehenge, but with cars. It was built by Jim Reinders as a memorial to his father, and it was dedicated at the June 1987 summer solstice.

Based on the advertising on the side of the building, this was a multipurpose one-stop location that was the post office, a diner, had gifts, fax machine, and copy machine. Painted over is the fact that it used to also contain groceries.

This school was most recently known as the Arthur S. May Elementary School. Previously it was simply the Arlington Elementary School, and it was originally the first high school for the Arlington Central School District. The building was built in 1924. The school is located on Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie, NY. The school district stopped using this location in June 2014 and moved the name of the school (Arthur S. May) to a nearby building. The property is now for sale, as of 2017.
I particularly liked photographing the “Boys” and “Girls” entrance signs, and also the various staircases throughout the building. It was kind of sad to read the final goodbye notes on the white boards, especially the principal’s (“pack my office”).

The family cemetery for the Westervelts is located on Route 9 (a.k.a. South Road or Albany Post Road) in Poughkeepsie, NY just north of IBM road, cattycorner to the location of the building known as the Westervelt house, which was demolished in 2017 and the property is being redeveloped as a bank.
Unfortunately some vandalism has occurred at the cemetery property. Please be respectful of the property and to those who are buried there!

According to Wikipedia, this site is the Port Orange Florida East Coast Railway Freight Depot (also known as the Central Pump & Supply Company) in Port Orange, FL. The station was originally built in 1894, and was used as a flag stop as late as 1955. In 1966, it was relocated 500 feet north of its original location. On February 5, 1998, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

These are photos taken during a tour of the Greystone property lead by the Roebling Chapter of the Society for Industrial Archaeology. The tour included around some of the main building, various outbuildings, and the former gas plant. Unfortunately, the main building and surrounding buildings have since been torn down (October 2015).
